Entertaining, YES. He just stands until he gets TKOed. Sure he's tuff but he's got a lot to work on in his game or he will be mentality brain dead in a few years taken SO much damage.

Justin's gonna need some heavy duty Healh care in years to come unfortunately. He takes way to many head shots = brain damage.

Damn, that's a lot of damage. Damage to the legs, damage to the body, damage to the head, damage to the eyes. Brutal but incredibly entertaining fight. Gaetjhe's going to have to change his style if he wants to continue fighting at the highest level, though. Undefeated before the UFC, now 1-2 in the organization, with both losses being (T)KO's, and he came close to being stopped against Johnson. Just doesn't reliably work against the best guys.

^^

I've read a few people make the comment that Justin needs to change his fighting style if he wants to compete with the top level guys. This is just a thought rolin' around the ol' brain pan of mine, but maybe he CAN'T because he ISN'T at the top level like many thought before he made his UFC debut. I hate to rag on someone who puts on entertaining fights like JG does, but in my humble opinion I don't think the guy should be fighting ranked guys at LW in the UFC right now. The way he fights is more like the skills shown by an under card fighter. He may have drawing power, I honestly don't know because I haven't seen any PPV reports or viewing data from non PPV UFC events he has fought on, but drawing power alone shouldn't be enough to cause him to be able to continue to fight ranked guys in his division. Am I the only person that feels this way?

The Black Saint wrote:Sweet. I had Poirier winning round 1 and 2, Gaethje winning round 3 which became a draw as a result of the point deduction and obviously the KO came in the 4th. Highly entertaining.

I forget which announcer it was, but I remember one of them saying Dustin was down on the scorecards after the second(maybe it was sometime in the third) and was like WTF, dude was lighting Justin up for the first two and the third was close still but yeah I would of given it to Justin until the point deduction.
How taste my peepee.

The draw power alone is why he got this Poirier fight I believe.
People like to see a 5 round bloody war and Gaethje does bring that to the table.
It shouldn't be enough to keep fighting the top ranked fighters but well see who he gets next.
He don't need 3 loses in a row, thats for sure.

I am surprised how well Poirier looks in this division. Was worried about him, but his frame is big enough. I don't think he can beat top 3 fighters in this division (Ferguson could be the "easiest" fight).

He was really sharp and this fight was very close. Poirier's moral was actually quite down after absorbing so many leg kicks. Few more and the fight could end different. I wonder, how this eye pokes affected on the result (it favored his style and he could rest). I think the one from Poirier side was intentional.

About Gaethje, I thought he was gonna change fight style after first loss (meaning, he'll wrestle more). Well, I hope he will change it now.

Something is really wrong with the massive momentum shift created by Herb Dean.
Simply put: I lost all interest in the UFC after the ridiculous Stipe/DC. What a charade Dana puts on.

Lomachenko threw punches from angles not seen at a speed not witnessed since the prime days of Floyd Mayweather, Jr.

Gaethje won the three round fight. He’s made his own name, which few fighters can effectively do. He deserves a ton of credit.
