Good decision. Cejudo pressed forward most of the fight and scored the takedowns. This version of Cejudo was just too big and strong

DJ stayed classy in the post-fight interview. Wish more fighters were like that...

The win for Cejudo is ok, but whats wrong with these super fights.
You win a title via split decision and the first thing you do is asking for super fight?!?!
Defend your title first and dont try to take the rumors the guy before you made.

Very close fight. DJ is still a fair bit better on the feet than Henry. DJ looked like he did more damage and had cleaner strikes. Henry's wrestling and the flurry at the end must have won him the fight but barely did enough. I too would be annoyed if I had lost my belt in that fashion after such a long reign

I don't agree with the decision. DJ was landing way more and Cejudo did not do much damage when controlling DJ on the ground. There were 3 closely contested rounds, giving all three to Cejudo is a bit of a stretch to me. I know having to beat the champion in order to be the champion isn't an official rule but to a certain extend it still applies. Cejudo certainly did not achieve that IMO. I don't think DJ is going to retire, he is way too competitive to do that.

Best comment.
Also, loved DJ's fairplay attitude when Bruce B. announces he lost by split decision ; he immediately goes to congratulate Cejudo's corner with an honest smile on his face.
Attitude of a true champion.

DJ didnt do much other than pressure the entire time, pepper an injured leg, and dash into wild exchanges. Wasnt a great fight IMO, nothing really landing other than leg kicks and headbutts.

DJ's reaction after the fight and during interview was almost as if he knew this was coming and was fine with it. If I was hugged for 6 minutes and lost I'd be a bit pissed and asking for rematch. I also wouldn't be surprised if this was MM's last fight, just judging by his demeanor.

Pretty spot on, this was more competitive than most of Dj's fights but nothing that effective or significant landed for either guy except for maybe the constant leg kicks. Average flyweight contest and it should have gone to DJ. Rogan needs to stop blazing before these events ffs

He looked relieved, maybe the pressure of having such a long reign and the ufc pushing him into a super fight was getting to him. He seems like an all round good dude tho

Agreed.
Also, some would say [s]the UFC[/s] Dana White was pushing hard to find a way to end MM's reign.
Just look how happy is the man to attach the belt to the new champion's waist.

Both aggression and octagon control goes to Cejudo, so I think it's a fair decision. Maybe MM had some better and cleaner shots but I would not count it as enough.
I do think though that they could have gone more wild earlier just laying it out there already in 4th round  going in to the last round quite battered. That would have been the ice on the cake. They were a little bit too strategic sawing themselves.

Yeah and why is that? The dude is dominant and exciting in the cage, for flyweight at least. Who in that division is a real money maker for them?
