You're a joke, riqtard. Conor threw and landed more in his fight with Nate than Woodley threw and landed in his fight with Maia & Thompson combined!

yup, specialists or not he coasts after doing as little as possible to win a fight

he has said many times in the past he doesnt care how he wins or what the fans think, his job is to win. well ok woodley, youre choices make you boring and the fans you dont care about dont like you

easily the most boring champ in mma history

Agreed...
But, as much as I don't like it, he's still the WW champ.

Maybe, just maybe haha, he is trying to finish out his fight contract with the UFC, and is hoping to become a free agent who will get picked up by another promotion like Bellator for example where he can get more pay from sponsors and things of that nature. Just a theory, what do you guys think?

Possibly, because now Woodley is threatening White (UFC) for an apology...

Commonsense would say, that level of career suicide, has to be premeditated.

The only other fighter who has a win over Maia that landed less strikes than Woodley was Marquardt.

Marquardt only threw 1 the whole fight.

Your statistics have nothing to do with the reason fans did not boo Conor.

Conor did not stay in the pocket with Daiz in the second fight because he got hurt in the stand up war with Daiz and then was submitted.

There would have been a lot more action in their second fight if Conor would have stayed and traded in the pocket with Daiz but he ran and riverdanced instead.

Fair enough, he didn’t play into Daiz’s strength because he got owned the last time.

However, fans did not boo Conor when he ran and turned his back on Daiz.  They cheered and praised his intelligence and did not see it as cowardice.

Yet, when Woodely does not play into the strength of his opponents, he gets booed.

That’s identity politics at best or plain racism at worse from the “fans.”
My ownage and reign over MMASHARE deplorables is sacrosanct.

Disagree with both of you guys. Woodley was on edge the whole fight, what it was is he was pissing his pants (rightfully so) at the prospect of finding himself on the mat with Maia (top or bottom). He just wanted no piece of that grappling action, "thanks but no thanks, 'key bye!".

You can even see in his demeanor the whole fight, whenever Maia did his funny impersonation of a drunken alien face-hugger (his takedowns always sounded like a "splat!" :D ), Tyron would squirm, sprawl as hard as he could, hide the panic and just get the fck out of there (back-turned run the fck away and all), no matter the scenario about to unfold.

Sadly, Woodley's horribly boring tactics were definitely on point, and he did what he had to win. He just kept the ball rolling on Maia's field, who was himself trapped in his own fear of Woodley's heavy hands (since he himself got badly tagged by the very first punch Tyron let fly...)...

Unfortunate turn of events, they both had the number on each other's weaknesses, but Woodley was able to dominate 3 out of 4 ranges (kicking, boxing and the clinch, which won him the fight), and he just simply didn't let the fight go where Maia would definitely have the upper hand. Meticulous game-plan, perfect execution, boring AF to watch.

Holy fck, not only are you able to read minds, you're able to read the minds of thousands of people simultaneously! People, we may be wasting words with the greatest medium mankind has ever seen. Quick somebody, use this treasure and ask the guy a meaningful question instead of wasting time with trivialities such as two grown men fighting in a cage...

I haven't rewatched the fight and it's been awhile so my memory could be off, but I think I've heard some boo's in that fight when he did that.

The fight was at 170 so his cardio is going to be affected differently than if he fought at 155. When Conor had the cardio, he wasted Diaz in the standup. So at 170, he learned that he had to fight a bit more conservatively to save his energy. The stats speak for themselves. 3 knockdowns. More strikes thrown and landed than Woodley's fight against Maia & Thompson combined. More damage done to Nate's face than his own face. The action was enough to be satisfactory that it didn't warrant boo's from my perspective.

You're entitled to your opinion, but the stats prove otherwise. But if it'll make you feel any better, when I boo'd, I was booing at the fight, not just 1 fighter (e.g. Woodley). Maia & Thompson made the fight boring as well.
