Best fights of all time?

Postby freeindeed » Aug 8. 2017, 07:22

I just recieved a message from a friend saying he has just watched some MMA for the first time, is curious to watch some more, and asked if i would suggest some fights for him to watch.
Anyone care to suggest their favourite fights?
On the list is Choi vs Swanson, Sanchez vs Melendez, Jones vs Gustaffson

Hendo vs Shogun

Manhoef vs Cyborg

Wanderlei Silva fights in Pride, against Rampage, Hendo or Crocop for example.

Fedor dropping Randleman on his head and against Crocop.

Cub Swanson vs Doo Ho Choi

McGregor vs Diaz 2

Griffin vs Bonnar for the history

Cormier vs Jones 2

Jones vs Gustaffson

Faber vs Aldo was crazy to see Faber hanging in there

Stoned Diaz vs Gomi

vintage Saku vs anyone (especially against Gracies)

And many many more. Hard to pick "the best" as different fights are great for different reasons.
Tell him to get Ufc fight pass it's well worth it. Speaking of which I'll go and rewatch some of those crackers now. :fb

korean zombie vs Leonard Garcia 1
Bigfoot vs mark hunt 1
Google me, Butch!

I'm a Rousey fan. You may like her or not, but she is an exciting fighter, making her opponents look amateur over and over.

This as well. You get a 7-day free trial and they have all the Pride & UFC fights all the way back to UFC 1 along with other organizations as well, so he can watch all of them for free and in HD.

So many great fights. He'll probably be most interested in good strikers to begin with so Anderson, Jones & McGregor will probably get him hooked. I reckon if he really gets into it its worth watching the early UFC's in full. Despite Joe's flaws he does a pretty good job educating the novice viewer. A lot of my friends are still more interested in boxing than MMA, they don't understand the difference in striking when take down defence is required for example. He'll enjoy fights so much more when he understands some of the subtleties. :like

... a big part of what makes fights great is the story line behind them. For example, go back to pride and watch some in order and you begin to understand why a match like crocop vs. fedor was so huge.... you can also watch those old pride tournies now from begining to end without watching live way back when and having to wait months.

historical match ups are also part of what makes fights great.... another example, watch the tuf season where serra wins the come back series and then watch him destroy gsp.... could also watch gsps match ups leading up to that fight to show how exciting and dominant he was up to that point---- underlines how serra was the huge dog in that fight

What about Kimbo vs Dada 5000?? Now that was a spectacle to behold.
